in-lite DOT

The in-lite DOT series is an excellent choice if you are looking for subtle and atmospheric ground lighting in your garden. These compact fixtures emit a soft, warm white glow that enhances your outdoor space without overpowering it.

The DOT is ideal as accent lighting or orientation lighting along paths, driveways and terraces, providing both ambiance and practical guidance after dark.

All in-lite DOT fixtures are made from high-quality polycarbonate with a strong, durable finish. These ground spotlights are also safe to drive over, making them ideal for driveways. At the same time, they work perfectly as orientation lighting along garden paths or as subtle markers in wooden decking and terraces. Due to its soft glow without visible glare, the in-lite DOT adds ambiance without overpowering your outdoor space.

Available models

The DOT series is available in a variety of colours and sizes, so there's always a model that complements your paving or decking. Below is an overview of the available DOT fixtures:

  • DOT 22
The most minimalist version of the series. With no visible ring, this fixture appears as pure light. Ideal for creating a subtle 'starry sky' effect and almost invisible during the day in any surface.
  • DOT 22 Black
This compact version (Ø22 mm with a Ø28 mm black ring) offers a clean and subtle finish. Perfect for modern settings where the dark ring blends into darker materials, allowing the light pattern to stand out.
  • DOT 22 Stainless Steel (RVS)
Featuring a stainless steel ring, this fixture delivers a timeless and refined look. A versatile option for both wooden and stone surfaces.
  • DOT 22 Pearl Grey
This version in Pearl Grey blends naturally into lighter surfaces such as concrete, natural stone or ceramic tiles. The subtle ring remains discreet during the day while providing clear orientation lighting at night.
  • DOT Black
The larger version (Ø60 mm, Ø68 mm including ring) makes a bold and modern statement. Its deep black finish creates a strong visual accent, ideal for driveways, garden paths and terraces.
  • DOT Stainless Steel (RVS)
This version offers a robust, timeless design. It's a durable option that works beautifully in wood or stone while maintaining a modern style.
  • DOT Pearl Grey
This larger model in soft grey works well in concrete, natural stone or light ceramic paving. It provides a calm and balanced look across wider, light-coloured surfaces.

Expert tip: combine different DOT sizes together to create playful and layered lighting effects.

Tips for the amount of spots

There is no fixed rule for how many DOT spots you need. It mostly depends on the effect you want to achieve and your personal preference. You can always start with fewer fixtures and expand your lighting plan later. Below are some general guidelines:

For 22 mm DOT spots

These are ideal for creating a subtle 'starry sky' effect. Along pathways or decking, space them approximately 50-100 cm apart.

  • Use around 2 spots per metre for a clearly defined line.
  • Use 1 spot per metre for a more playful and informal pattern.

For terraces, aim for 3 to 5 spots per square metre. Position them irregularly for a more natural appearance.

For 60 mm DOT spots

These larger fixtures create a stronger visual impact and work well as clear markers. They require slightly more spacing.

  • On driveways and wide paths, space them approximately 100-200 cm apart.
  • On larger terraces, use them sparingly; around 1 to 2 spots per m².

Place them strategically to highlight corners, edges or transitions rather than covering the entire surface.

Installing the in-lite DOT in your garden

The DOT ground spotlights operate on the in-lite 12V system and are easy to install yourself in three simple steps:

Drill and place

Drill a hole in the desired surface (wood, stone or similar) and place the DOT fixture into the opening.

For the DOT 22, the drill diameter should be 22 mm.
For the bigger DOT, the drill diameter should be 60,8 mm.

The DOT fixtures can also be installed in softer surfaces such as grass or gravel. In this case, use the in-lite SPIKE ground stake. Choose the SPIKE 22 for the DOT 22 and the SPIKE 60 for the larger models.

Cable installation

Lay the 12V ground cable along the planned fixture locations.

Connect

Use the included Easy-Lock connector to connect each DOT to the main cable. This waterproof connection clicks securely into place without the need for extra tools.

The in-lite system: safe, simple and modular

All DOT fixtures operate on the in-lite low-voltage 12V system. It has been designed for safe and easy DIY installation, without the need for a professional electrician.

The system consists of three key components:

Transformer

The transformer converts 230V mains power into a safe 12V supply. It includes a light sensor and timer function, allowing your garden lighting to switch on and off automatically.

12V cable

This is the main cable that runs through your garden. It is safe to handle, even when powered. The cable can be laid beneath grass or covered with a thin layer of soil or gravel.

Fixtures

The fixtures themselves (such as the DOT series) are easily connected to the cable using the Easy-Lock system. One of the main advantages is flexibility: adding, removing or repositioning fixtures can be done quickly and without complex adjustments.
