in-lite DOT

The in-lite DOT series is the perfect choice when you're looking for a subtle, atmospheric ground spot in your garden. These fixtures emit a soft, warm white light. Using these as accent or orientation lighting is ideal.

Each DOT is made from high-quality polycarbonate with a strong finish. They’re completely safe to drive over, making them perfectly suited for driveways. However, they also shine as orientation lighting along pathways or as markers in wooden decks or terraces. Designed to create a gentle glow without glare, these spots add ambiance without overwhelming your outdoor space.

Available models

The DOT series is available in a variety of colors and sizes, so there’s always one that suits your paving or decking. Below is a breakdown of the available DOT models:

  • DOT (Transparent) The most minimalist version of the series. With no visible ring, this spot consists purely of light. Perfect for creating a magical starry sky effect. Nearly invisible during the day in any surface.
  • DOT 22 Black This small variant (22 mm diameter with a 28 mm black ring) offers a sleek, subtle finish. Ideal for modern settings where the ring blends into dark materials, focusing attention entirely on the refined lighting pattern.
  • DOT 22 RVS The stainless-steel ring (28 mm) gives this 22 mm fixture a timeless and refined look. A versatile choice for both wood and stone surfaces.
  • DOT 22 Pearl Grey This pearl grey 22 mm variant is designed to blend seamlessly into light-colored surfaces such as concrete, natural stone, or tiles. The subtle tone of the ring draws little attention during the day, allowing the light to shine at night.
  • DOT Black This larger version (60 mm diameter, 68 mm with ring) delivers a bold, modern statement. Its deep black finish offers a chic, strong look. Ideal for accentuating driveways, paths, and patios.
  • DOT RVS With a 60 mm size (68 mm with ring), this version offers a robust, timeless design. A durable option that works beautifully in wood or stone while maintaining a contemporary style.
  • DOT Pearl Grey This large version in soft grey is ideal for concrete, natural stone, or light ceramic tiles. It blends effortlessly into larger light-colored surfaces, with a calm and balanced appearance.

Expert tip: Combine the various sizes of DOT spots together to create playful and layered lighting effects.

Tips for the amount of spots

There’s no fixed rule for how many spots you need. It mostly depends on your goals and personal taste. You can always start with fewer spots and expand later. Here are some rough guidelines:

For 22 mm DOT Spots

Perfect for a subtle 'starry sky' effect. Along paths or decking, space them about 50–100 cm apart. Use about 2 spots per meter for a clearly defined line, or 1 per meter for a more playful pattern. For terraces, aim for 3 to 5 spots per square meter, and place them irregularly for a more natural look.

For 60 mm DOT Spots

These big, powerful spots are designed to make more of a statement. They are used as clear markers and need a little more space. On driveways and wide paths, space them 100–200 cm apart. For large terraces, use them sparingly: about 1 to 2 spots per m². Place them strategically to highlight corners or transitions, instead of filling the entire surface.

Installing the in-lite DOT

The DOT ground spots work on the in-lite 12V system and are easy to install yourself in three steps:

  • Drill and place

Drill a hole into the surface (wood, stone, etc.) and place the DOT spot in the opening. For the DOT 22, the drill diameter should be 22 mm. For the 60 mm DOT, it’s 60,8 mm.

The spots are also placeable in soft surfaces like grass and gravel. Use the in-lite Spike ground stake. Use the Spike 22 for the DOT 22, and the Spike 60 for the bigger versions.

  • Cable installation
Run the 12V cable along the desired fixture locations.

  • Connect
Use the included Easy-Lock connector to attach each DOT to the main cable. This waterproof connection clicks into place without needing any tools.

The in-lite system: safe, simple and modular

All DOT fixtures run on in-lite’s low-voltage 12V system. Optimally designed for safe, DIY installation without the need for a professional. The system consists of three key components:

  1. Transformer
The transformer converts the 230V from a wall socket into a low-voltage 12V. It includes a light sensor and a timer, allowing your fixtures to turn on and off by itself.

  2. 12V Cable
This is the main cable that goes through your garden. It’s completely safe to handle, even when live. Can be laid under grass or a thin layer of dirt or gravel.

  3. Fixtures
The fixtures themselves (like the DOT series) are easily connected via the Easy-Lock to a cable. The big advantage here is the flexibility; adding another fixture, removing or repositioning is easily done.
